1. Scope and who we are

This notice applies to modustollens.com and to information you send to Modus Tollens LLC through the contact email published on the site. Modus Tollens LLC is based in Maryland, USA, and is responsible for the information described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you choose to send

If you contact us by email, we receive the information in that message, which may include your name, email address, organization, project details, and any files or other information you attach.

Please do not send confidential collection records, credentials, sensitive personal information, or media through an initial email. We can arrange an appropriate secure exchange after a first conversation.

Routine website and security data

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may process limited technical information when the site is requested, such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser or device information, routing data, and security signals. We may receive basic aggregated or operational information needed to keep the site available and secure.

What the site does not collect

This site currently has no account system, inquiry form, payment checkout, advertising pixels, or behavioral analytics scripts. We do not use nonessential cookies, build advertising profiles, or use website activity for automated decision-making.

3. How and why we use information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • evaluate and respond to an inquiry;
  • take steps toward, manage, or perform a business relationship;
  • operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the site;
  • prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents;
  • maintain appropriate business records and meet legal obligations; or
  • carry out another purpose you have specifically authorized.

Where a legal basis is required, these uses rely on steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in answering inquiries and securing the site, compliance with law, or consent when applicable. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time where consent is the basis.

Retention

Inquiry and business correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage a relationship, maintain required records, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Technical data is retained by Cloudflare according to the services and settings in use. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to legal or operational requirements.

4. Sharing and service providers

We may disclose information to providers that help operate the site and communications, including Cloudflare and our email provider; to professional advisers under appropriate duties of confidentiality; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business reorganization or transfer.

Cloudflare processes network and security information for sites using its services. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy .

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising.

International processing

Modus Tollens is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our service providers operate, subject to protections required by applicable law.

5. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and whether a particular law applies, you may have rights to ask what personal information we hold about you, obtain a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. We do not discriminate against anyone for making a privacy request.

Send a request to [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line. Describe what you are asking us to do and the email address or interaction involved. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may also be asked to show their authority.

If we deny a request and applicable law gives you an appeal right, reply to the decision with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line and explain why you believe it should be reconsidered. You may also have the right to complain to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live.

6. Security and children

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the limited information we handle. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

This professional-services site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

7. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top shows when the latest version took effect. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or communicated by another appropriate method.

8. Contact
